You will receive an instructional DVD/VHS of your team’s choreography. Your DVD is filmed in a format specifically crafted for your quality learning, understanding, and absorption of material. This method enables your team to pace their learning - to absorb the choreography at a speed that is suitable for them instead of being mandated by time constraints and traveling choreographers’ schedules.
We here at Balance Point understand that, for some teams, learning a complete routine in a condensed amount of time is not an environment conducive to success. It creates a situation where dancers become stressed with the pressure of the clock ticking and therefore sacrifice benefiting from any quality dance training in order to merely obtain the memorization of the movements – a “what comes next?” approach. Not only will this provide you with a less than optimal end result, your dancers also run the risk of missing out on vital technical instruction, causing them to lose points on the score sheets and ultimately injure themselves from lack of training.
Your instructional DVD presents your choreography in small segments, taught section by section. It’s complete with count by count instruction, front and back views, details of group/level/partner work, and examples with counts and with music.
With your very own DVD/VHS, dancers can learn and relearn, absorb and review, perfect and polish – not solely relying on the group’s recollection of the material, but with the ability to always refer directly to the choreographer – again and again. They’ll not only be able to learn the choreography, but make it their own.
If your team prefers to have onsite instruction in addition to their Choreography Instructional DVD/VHS, check out our offering of our Medallion Package, which incorporates both the learning tools discussed here as well as onsite instruction by the choreographer.
